Today his dream has come true: his inventive staging perfectly recreates the spirit of youth in the 1950s in the United States, in this now legendary classroom where Stéphane Freiss reigns as the ideal teacher. Jubilant!

A key figure in cinema (Agnès Varda, François Ozon, Claude Berri and Steven Spielberg) and the small screen, Stéphane Freiss has never left the stage since the Comédie Française, moving from repertory theater to contemporary authors. With Dead Poets Society, it is as if he combined his love for cinema and theater in this adaptation of Peter Weir's cult film by Tom Schulmann. From the uniforms to the period offices, from the lighting effects to the chiseled dialogues, everything here works wonderfully to resurrect an era where adolescence still seemed like paradise! The playful, funny or reflective collective scenes alternate with moments of intimacy while the breathtaking performance of the six boarding school students plays on an equal footing with that of Stéphane Freiss, masterful as an anti-conformist professor… Enough to make you forget the endearing style of Robin Williams and offer “a high-flying theatrical whirlwind” that gives you as much to think as to dream.
